The popularity of notebook and other mobile computing devices has unfortunately introduced the problem of
misplaced, lost or stolen devices. Computrace LoJack is stealth software that enables mobile devices to be detected
and located when they’re connected to the Internet. If reported stolen, Computrace monitoring staff will automatically
contact law enforcement officials to initiate recovery.
Once activated, the Computrace software must be registered in order to protect your notebook against theft.

- Use a cable and lock.
- Avoid leaving your notebook unattended, even for a minute. Keep your belongings in sight at all times.
- When not in use, lock your laptop in a cupboard, laptop cart or other secure facility at school or at home. If it must be left in a vehicle, cover it up or lock it in the trunk.
- Keep your laptop inconspicuous on the street. Carry your laptop in a backpack or a school bag, instead of a tell-tale laptop bag, which makes it obvious what is inside.
- Activate the Computrace Software that ships in ‘sleep’ mode on your laptop. Absolute Software cannot track and recover laptops that have not been properly activated.
