UB Green is the campus-wide initative encompassing these objectives. UBMicro's role is to provide ready access to environmental and energy conserving products of good value at low cost.

Protecting Our Environment

UBMicro offers an innovative trade-in program and is a recycling depot for the safe and proper recycling of computers, printers and other peripherals. In addition, UBMicro offers a "data wipe" service compliant with governmental and industry guidelines for replacing and/or disposing of data storage devices such as hard drives, thumb drives and other removable storage devices.

Energy Conservation

All of our UB 2020 products are Energy Star approved and includes power management software that conserves energy, improves battery life, and helps to lower the overall consumption of energy. Energy Star is an international standard for energy efficient consumer products. Devices carrying the Energy Star logo, such as computer products and peripherals, kitchen appliances, buildings and other products, save 20%-30% on average.
